IUF oST invites its Adhering Bodies to submit nominations from their marketplace for the 3^rd IUFoST Global Food Industry Awards to be presented at the IUFoST World Congress in Iguazu Falls, Brazil 5 – 9 August, 2012.

Categories:

Awards will be made in three categories for food products that best display the following qualities:

1.  Product and/or process innovation including industrialization of traditional foods
2.  Package innovation, with specifics on the innovative part of the packaging and why it is important
3.  Communicating science-related knowledge to consumers aimed at improving their lifestyle (e.g. children, teens, adults, seniors). Marketing campaigns may be nominated in this category.

An Adhering Body can nominate a maximum of four (4) products in each category. To qualify, products must have been launched since August 2010.

       To submit a nomination:

Please complete the accompanying form ensuring that the following  information is included. - A brief description in point form (500 words or less) from the Adhering Body in support of the nomination.
- Specify under which category the product is entered.
- A photo of the product, package (front and back of pack), and communication if appropriate.
-  Product pictures should be in JPEG format, minimum of 3 dpi, no larger than 1 MB (not in tif or pdf format).
-  When product, package, communication was introduced.
-  Innovative features of the product, package, communication
- Why the product, package, communication is important
- The full name, address of the nominated company and principal contact with email address
-  The name and contact details of the Adhering Body submitting the nomination.

Judging Process:

The nominations will be assessed by a global panel:

Ms. Rosie Maguire (South Africa) 

Finalists will be notified in writing by 1 May, 2012. Finalists will be required to submit example packaging and contents for final judging (including tasting) and exhibition during the congress. The awards will be presented during the Congress.  If the winners are not present in Iguazu Falls, the awards will be accepted by a member of the nominating Adhering Body or Company.
