SEVEN YOUNG SCIENTISTS  have been given the unprecedented opportunity to address the world community of food science and technology at the 16th IUFoST World Congress of Food Science and Technology this August.

Nominations were invited by IUFoST national scientific members (Adhering Bodies). The young scientists, in their first position of a permanent nature and not more than five years beyond completion of their PhD, submitted abstracts and statements of recommendation.

The criteria for consideration:

  • Candidate who best exemplifies food science and technology nationally
  • Candidate’s ability to represent himself/herself in an oral presentation in a plenary setting
  • Candidate whose focus exemplifies the Congress theme: “Addressing Global Food Security and Wellness through Food Science and Technology” with international application
